We believe projects are most successful when there is a healthy match between a client and service provider. To this end, we're transparent about what it's like to work with us.
Equity First
We are a small team with a strategic focus on ensuring every client feels fully supported and empowered through our partnership. This means we take on a limited number of clients at any given time, with a priority given to organizations that serve communities and/or are led by those historically and currently impacted by systems of oppression.
Ownership
One of the ways we put our commitment to equity into action is to ensure the way we work supports the empowerment of our clients. We will never engage in practices that create an oppressive power dynamic, such as gatekeeping access to platforms, purchasing licenses in our name, etc. Our clients always maintain full ownership of project deliverables.
Communication
We pride ourselves on providing clear and thoughtful communication. We make information available, as well as truly accessible and supportive of each organization’s communication needs.
Project Packet
Each project has a dedicated project packet. One document package that contains all your relevant documentation in one location.
Project Dashboard
Every project has a dedicated dashboard making it easy to stay up-to-date on the progress and status of project elements, all without needing to learn a new project management tool or creating new accounts. Dashboards can be customized to support the internal communication needs of each project.
Time Zone Considerations
We are happy to work with clients across all time zones in the US. However, we do acknowledge that this still creates additional considerations when choosing a consulting partner for many organizations. We are based in the Pacific time zone.
Collaboration
We approach collaboration as a way to bring out your team's best work from your limited time and resources. We don’t believe your time is best spent learning new project management tools.
Google Workspace
We use the Google Workspace products as our main source for working documents. We find them to be well suited for collaboration, avoiding version control issues, keeping conversation in documents and out of email, and an already familiar tool for most clients.
Miro
If a project requires deeper collaboration or greater support for visualization than Google Workspace products can support, we work with a cloud-based platform called Miro.
Asynchronous vs. Synchronous
We believe real-time meetings should be reserved for relationship building, deeper conversations, interactive problem-solving, and ideation. We pride ourselves on finding the right balance between working asynchronously and when a meeting is required.
Fee Structure
As we focus our support on nonprofits specifically, we do not offer a different fee structure for nonprofits specifically. We work on a fee-for-project structure and not an hourly rate with payments due at clearly identified deliverable milestones.
